Our prom...

Heyy, Beth here!

In case you may or not know, myself and Abi actually had our prom a few weeks ago, on July 4th. We were both considering not going (not that I had any choice, I'm the eldest child unlike Abi) because friends in older years or elder sisters in Abi's case have always said that they didn't enjoy it and it really wasn't worth all the money and the hassle. But my parents convinced me to go and then I had the hard and painful task of convincing Abi to go. But I'm sure we can both agree that it was an amazing experience (despite the cost but lets not get into that). It was so wonderful to see everyone scrub up and make the most of our last night together as a year group and in all honesty I actually think it is a bit stupid not to go to your prom. Yes it's a bit worrying, you have to deal with everyone looking at you and judging what you look like, but I promise you don't have to worry about that at all. Everyone is so amazed by how fantastic everyone looks that there is no negativity! It can be stressful, like picking the right dress and then getting your hair to match, plus everything else! But trust us, trust me it was all worth it. It was such a great night even though the music and food wasn't too good but it was incredible. And I hope that if you're wondering whether to go or not you decide to go, its part of your school teen life! And I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Now here's a few photos:

Here's me and Abi,

I honestly don't think I could have said it better myself to be honest and I'm so glad I decided to go, all of the things you have been stressing about just don't matter in the grand scheme of things, ultimately it doesn't matter if you paid £50 or £500 for your dress, whether you got your hair and makeup done professionally or whether your shoes match your bag and accessories perfectly because nobody else will notice or care and even if they do as Bernard M. Baruch once said "those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”as long as you're there and you make the most of the night and dance your lil heart out or just have fun with your friends you will have and amazing time and that's truly all that matters  and even if you seriously hate 90% of your year group the night should be made better by the comforting thought that you never have to see most of them again so theirs always that. On another note having a date for prom is not the be-all and end-all, aside from geting a few pictures and perhaps a corsage if you're lucky, its not that important and just going with your freinds can be just as fun and special. of couse im not tryig to kid anyone,  it is nice to have a date and to be asked to prom but just don't be to hung up about it if you're not asked its often the case that somebody wants to ask you but they just dont have the courage but if you realy want to go to prom with someone just ask them, the worst that can happen is they say no and remember you probably won't have to see them again anway!
hopefully I have provided you with a lil bit of comfort on this subject-maybe not
